About David Sterling

David Sterling is the Global Head of Mining Automation, at Emesent, a technology company that uses LiDAR and robotics to provide information to aid in mining and mining automation. Based in Emesent’s head office in Brisbane, David is a qualified geologist who has worked in software for mining and utilities for over 20 years. In his current role David leads Emesent’s Mining Automation program, initially involved in using explosion proof versions of Emesent’s well known Hovermap technology, to map underground coal mines, identify coal marker bands, and improve information feedback and/or control of Continuous and Longwall Miners.
