Daly Bay STEMPunks Autonomous Vehicle Program
Local students will be given the unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at a two day program held at the Resources Centre of Excellence.
The Daly Bay STEMPunks Autonomous Vehicle Program will run over the next two days and will welcome 50 local students from both Catherine McAuley College and Northern Beaches High School. Students will delve into hands-on experiences where they will explore and learn advanced system components and their operation. The core focus is the integration with machines and systems to enable a deeper understanding of how they operate.
Michael Holstrom, director of STEMPunks said, “The program enables students to learn new skills that have direct links with local industries in the resources and agriculture sectors. A core aim of the program is to inspire students to pursue future career pathways in local industries to retain talent in the region."
The program has been made possible by major sponsor Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, and co-sponsors Central Queensland University, Mackay Manufacturing Hub and Queensland Hydro.
